To test the roots of AI in prisons, Cell Unlocked has an “AI Legal Help” program where we correspond with inmates via mail on their legal matters. Inmates send us their legal issues and we act as unofficial advisors, helping them on their legal journey. They send us prompts to input into AI, and we send answers back. This is a pilot program, of sorts, to gauge demand for AI behind bars.
